On January 7, 2025, the State of Rhode Island entered into a formal agreement (consent decree) in the United States District Court after a Federal investigation found violations to federal civil rights laws concerning psychiatric hospitalizations of youth from 2017 to 2022. The purpose of this informational meeting is to bring together community partners and the general public to learn about: • The requirements of the consent decree • How the State of Rhode Island will approach system improvement • Opportunities for collaboration to improve the experiences of children and their families. All are invited to attend to gain insight into the Consent Decree, the State’s approach to compliance, and the key requirements for its implementation. This session will provide an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and understand how this effort will shape our work moving forward. Sessions will be held on: Wednesday March 12 from 1:00pm - 2:30pm Wednesday March 26 from 5:00pm - 6:30pm The same information will be presented at both sessions.
